Study: Scandinavian wolf population is stable

A major study has been released by Skandulv, the Scandinavian Wolf Project. The group conducts a study every winter, involving tracking both by sight and by radio telemetry and relies on the support of groups such as the hunters associations and the Swedish Carnivore Association. It's a mammoth undertaking and this year's report shows that numbers of wolves are generally stable, with an estimated 136 to 169 wolves living in the Scandinavian Peninsula.

The report can be downloaded in PDF format from Skandulv's website. It includes detailed maps of wolf observations, pack territories and more.
