A splashing time at the UKWCT!

The start of August saw the completion of a long-term project at the Trust, the construction of a pond in the lower enclosure.

The pond was excavated with heavy earthmoving equipment and includes a pump and filtration system to keep the water aerated.

Wolves are well equipped for dealing with water and we hope they'll enjoy the new feature, especially on hot summer days!

On the 2nd August, the North American pack was moved to the lower enclosure and they're the first of our wolves to experience the pond. Kodiak proved to be an adept swimmer, although the other wolves were a little more cautious.
